Description
We are expanding our team and searching for a new Embedded Python Engineer. As part of our growing embedded software team you will help to develop sophisticated applications for our new VBOX Touch platform.
As a Python Developer you will report directly to our Head of Development and will be responsible for taking application requests from our global customer base and turning them into reality.
The VBOX Touch is unique in the world of automotive testing and motorsport as it contains high accuracy, RTK capable GPS alongside serial and CAN interfaces allowing it to communicate directly with the vehicle and with other Racelogic products. The full colour touch screen display provides an unprecedented level of customer interaction and feedback and provides endless opportunities for customisation using Python.
The ideal candidate for this role will have good Python skills, at least two years commercial experience combined with an interest in electronics, as some of this role will be interfacing with the VBOX Touch hardware directly. A good working knowledge of C and experience working with embedded systems or CAN would be an advantage.
In return we can offer an exciting development role with the chance to interface with both customers and the rest of the business developing ground-breaking applications to add to our VBOX Touch application library.
Required Skills
* 2+ years experience developing Pyhton applications, ideally in an embedded environment
* Working knowledge of C
* A degree in a relevant discipline
As this is an embedded development role an interest in electronics and a desire to learn more would be an advantage
As a winner of the prestigious Queen's Awards for Enterprise, Innovation and International Trade you will be joining a company that is renowned within the industry, as dynamic and highly successful and known to provide real career opportunities for all their staff.
Since its formation in 1992, the company has always realised that its strength lies in the skills and expertise of its people and works hard to give them the opportunities to shine. Operating an open and honest culture, where individuals are trusted to work with the minimum of supervision, has meant that we have been able to continue to grow despite the restrictions of the pandemic.
This role will be based at home in the short term and will revert to a flexible contract once social distancing rules are relaxed. This will mean a mixture of home working and office-based project and team meetings. This means that candidates outside of a normal commuting distance will be considered for this role, however you must be prepared to visit the Buckingham office with 24 hours’ notice.
The company offers all of its employees a competitive salary, profit related bonus scheme, private healthcare and an employee share ownership scheme
