Lead Technician – Microbiology

My client, a biopharmaceutical organisation based in Buckinghamshire, is looking for a Lead Technician to perform testing in Microbiology laboratories, including Sterility testing in a clean room environment. Testing includes finished products and intermediates, biological in nature.

Key Responsibilities include:

* To perform testing of intermediate and finished products in accordance with GMP, dossier and where relevant, as per pharmacopoeia requirements.

* Microbiology testing and training of personnel (Bioburdens, plate reading, sterility testing, growth promotion and Inactivation’s) in accordance with SOP’s.

* Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with GMP, MSD’s Quality Manual and pharmacopeia.

* Release of batches in accordance with lead times, escalating any potential impact to supply.

* Update SOP's and other GMP documents ensuring they are current and relevant.

* Promote safety within the laboratory areas, by raising safety observations, ensuring correct signage and maintaining COSHH documentation to prevent or reduce unnecessary exposure to hazardous substances.

* Lead cross functional investigations and support other lab technicians in complex deviations and CAPA’s.

* SAP – ensure timely completion of results in SAP and up to date specifications for microbiology lab tests.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent in Microbiology or related with experience in quality control testing (preferably within Microbiology). You will also have worked in a GMP environment
