This specialist technology and engineering consultancy has developed technologies, components and processes that have been proven at the pinnacle of it’s specialist field. They are looking to add a graduate Software Developer to their team. You will be working on fast-moving and challenging projects that are central to the development of the commercial product portfolio and to support client’s engineering activities. Duties will include:
* Development of commercial quality software in Windows or web environments
* Converting customer needs into detailed development specifications
* Front end development & UX/UI design
* Close cooperation with the Simulation and Modelling team to incorporate physical and empirical models into the back end.
* Development of CAD tools and CFD workflow systems
* Product testing and debugging
* Release management
Don’t worry if not all of this is familiar as training will be provided
You should be a recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar. Your knowledge of C++ or C# should be strong (there will be a test on this as part of the interview process).
The following would be ideal, but are not essential (though ideally you should have knowledge of some of them):
* Good knowledge of Python
* Experience developing WPF applications using Visual Studio (.NET Framework)
* Experience developing web based applications (C# ASP)
* Knowledge of databases; e.g. MySql or similar
* Software development using agile methodology
* Software development with CAD software platforms like open cascade technology (OCCT), VTK would be beneficial
It’s a supportive team, and a vibrant environment; you will receive ongoing training, both in specific technical skills and towards professional qualifications with the IMechE.
Partial working from home is available, and even was before the pandemic.
In addition to a salary of £27,000 there is a bonus based on company performance, and that could be another 4 weeks pay (though its currently on hold due to the pandemic).
