I am looking for an Applications Engineer could be a Test Development Engineer, please read below an overview of the role and reply with a current CV if you are interested.
The Applications Engineer will be responsible for supporting the development of conceptual fuel injection test solutions for the companies core product range and OE partner approved solutions from concept through to completion.
Note: Below is a “wish-list” and training will be provided, the Key areas which are “Must Have” are as follows
* Not a job hopper
* An engineering qualification probably in mechanical engineering or related
* Experience of how engines (Automotive/Industrial/Marine/Generators) compression systems work
* Experience or test and validation
* Working within a R&D team
* Able to do engineering/test report writing
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Developing new product specifications (internal and external).
2. Designing and executing experiments to prove new machine/control concepts.
3. Provide lead engineer on R&D projects ensuring the product specification is being met.
4. Writing project technical documentation (e.g. Specifications, timing plans, acceptance test procedures, user manuals, applications guides).
Essential requirements:
1. Ability to write, update and develop technical specifications.
2. Ability to read technical drawings and an understanding of mechanical design principles.
3. Advanced user with oscilloscope/s to analyse electrical drive and sensor feedback.
4. Experience in R&R testing techniques.
5. Ability to effectively communicate technical application requirements to other engineering functions.
6. Microsoft Project knowledge.
7. Experience with MS Excel to manipulate technical data.
8. Basic CAD experience, i.e. opening drawings, opening assemblies (ideally Solidworks).
9. Knowledge of Diesel Common Rail and Gasoline Direct fuel injection systems and their working principles on engine.
10. 3-5 years' experience within an R&D / proof of concept environment.
11. Previous knowledge and experience with hydraulic and electrical control systems, ideally pressure/flow control and quantity measurement.
Non-Essential but Desirable Requirements:
1. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical assemblies and electrical layouts.
2. Design for manufacture, service and test.
3. Vehicle control systems
