A fantastic new opportunity has arisen within a globally recognised automotive manufacturer of injection moulded plastics for a Technical Expert– Injection Moulding.

Taking overall responsibility and accountability for the Injection Moulding process within a World Class Moulding facility, they are now looking to recruit a dynamic Technical Expert– Injection Moulding

As a Technical Expert– Injection Moulding you must have significant prior experience within a mouldings/plastics environment, reducing cycle times, SMED and automation.

Role and Responsibilities:

* The role of Technical Expert– Injection Moulding will be to proactively lead, develop & mentor a production & moulding team to meet KPI’s and production demand.

* You will be required to support and mentor colleagues to achieve high motivation and productivity through consistent and positive leadership.

* For the role of Technical Expert– Injection Moulding you will be responsible for ensuring all Health & Safety practices are adhered to while identifying and implementing lean principles to improve efficiency and reduce scrap.

* The successful candidate must have prior experience with technical injection moulding processes, robotics and automation.

* This is an excellent position for an established Technical Expert looking to take their next career step.

* This is a hands-on, sleeves rolled up role managing a small team of Mould Setters & Operators, – you will be expected to lead by example and be involved in Mould Setting, Process optimisation, machine tool continuous improvements, tool change-overs and tool trials, supporting NPI and material trials & development. You will also support the engineering department and project teams with all CAPEX specifications, factory layout, footprints etc.

* To proactively lead, develop & mentor a production & moulding team to meet shift KPI’s and production demand.

* To support the Mouldshop Manager and colleagues to achieve high motivation and productivity through consistent and positive leadership

* Manage the skills and development of production staff, including identifying training needs, coaching and promoting teamwork

* Problem solving, implementation and maintenance of lean principles

To be successful in your application for the role of Technical Expert– Injection Moulding, you should:

* Have a strong background in technical injection moulding processes and automation

* Have Supervisory or Management experience within plastic injection moulding setting, high or low-volume manufacturing or Trade Moulding is essential

* Be enthusiastic, self-motivated, work on own initiative

* Demonstrate continuous improvement initiative

* Have good experience within lean manufacturing tools, ie 5S, 5Y, SMED

* Computer Literacy use of MS Excel, MS Word & Power point
