A fantastic new opportunity has arisen within a globally recognised automotive manufacturer of injection moulded plastics for a Mould Shop Continuous Improvement Leader.
Taking overall responsibility and accountability for Continuous Improvement within a World Class Moulding facility, they are now looking to recruit a dynamic Continuous Improvement Leader to execute TPM utilising best practice manufacturing, Lean and Six Sigma methods to deliver tangible and quantified bottom-line improvements to the P&L. This includes performing business assessment analysis, planning, facilitation, execution of kaizen events, and sustainment through new standard work practices and procedures. The CI Specialist will drive a cultural transformation across the business by building cross functional matrix teams and driving an improvement culture.
As a Continuous Improvement Leader you must have prior experience within a mouldings/plastics environment, reducing cycle times, SMED and automation.

Responsibilities:
* The Continuous Improvement Leader will support the Mouldshop Manager and colleagues to achieve high motivation and productivity through consistent and positive leadership
* Identifies continuous improvement projects both independently and through the engagement of the operations organisation.
* Project manages approved Continuous Improvement programs by coordinating necessary human and operational resources and setting and implementing budgetary and timing controls to achieve chartered goals.
* Manages in-house training on CI tools and methodologies and guides employees.
* Leads the OEE improvement & scrap reduction teams to achieve OEE & scrap targets.
* Trains team members in lean & six sigma and leads the implementation.
* Utilise Kaizen rapid improvement teams to resolve short term production issues as they occur.
* Value stream maps all processes to identify and then eliminate waste.
* Preparation of weekly reports on company activities to the Operations Director
* Develops standard work on best practices and update system on identified enhancements.
* Lead continuous improvement project teams for projects within plant operations.
* Problem solving, implementation and maintenance of lean principles
To be successful in your application for the role of Continuous Improvement Leader, you should:
* Have a strong background in technical injection moulding processes and automation
* Have supervisory or Management experience within plastic injection moulding setting, hi-volume manufacturing or Trade Moulding is essential
* Be enthusiastic, self-motivated, work on own initiative
* Demonstrate continuous improvement initiative
* Have good experience within lean manufacturing tools, ie 5S, 5Y, SMED
* Computer Literacy use of MS Excel, MS Word & Power point
