Introduction
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new mortgage lender who have robust funding all in place, and experience management team and are gearing up to fully launch circa February 2022. They are seeking a Finance Manager to work as part of a small but dynamic management team. You will oversee the financial performance and health of the business, ensure all payments due are made as well as own the funds disbursement process to ensure our borrowers are able to complete their mortgages in a timely manner.
Not only will you be involved in a brand new start up, you will help shape the processes, participate and contribute to ongoing business improvement activity.
Our clients head office is based near Milton Keynes (Bletchley), and they would like this role to take on a hybrid approach of 3 days in the head office, and 2 working remotely.
Duties of the Finance Manager will include:
* Work with the outsourced accountancy team to own the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions
* Contract outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary
* Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
* Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
* Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports
* Present financial reports to board members & stakeholders in senior management meetings
* Make payments for funding mortgage loans and payment of introducer commissions
* Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
* Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
The successful person for the Finance Manager will possess:
* Experience within the finance function of a financial services organisation
* Experience of cloud-based accounting systems (xero, quick books etc)
* Analytical thinker with string attention to detail
* Knowledge of working under pressure to tight deadlines – a 'can do ‘attitude
* Record/file management experience
* Ability to prioritise tasks
* Excellent communication skills
* Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate ever changing business needs
