Role- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary- £45,000 – £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Type- Permanent

Location- Buckinghamshire

My client works within R&D and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the Buckinghamshire area.

Design – Development – Optics – Instrumentation – R&D – High Precision – Mechanical 

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
5 or more years’ of industry experience working in similar design focused role involving the manufacture of electro-mechanical equipment
Excellent proficiency with CAD software – ideally SolidWorks or similar
Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, castings, machining etc.
Any specific experience of optics, scientific instrumentation, moving parts, special purpose machinery, vacuum, thermal analysis or high precision products would be a bonus to hit the ground running
The ability to understand system requirements
Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
Have excellent communication skills both verbal and writtenThe Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

Working within the R&D multi-disciplinary team
Working on new product concepts
Being involved in the product design and development process using SolidWorks
Working with high precision instrumentation products
Modelling, analysis and the development of mechanisms
Involved in building and developing prototypes
Conducting design reviews
Producing the relevant documentation that is required
