FRS-UK is actively recruiting for a Sustainability Manager to support construction projects in meeting their sustainability requirements along with coordinating the delivery of sustainability strategies across the business.
Responsibilities
* Support projects in achieving BREEAM, LEED and WELL assessments
* Work with project teams to achieve environmental targets
* Work with the Business Development and Estimating Teams to complete Sustainability sections of tenders and PQQ's, offering guidance on specific project requirements
* Work with the procurement and commercial teams on securing supply chain involvement
* Conduct regularly environmental inspections on site, reporting to Senior Management on any non-conformances
* Contribute to the business’s strategy development and implementation
* Manage project teams to ensure that projects are legally compliant in areas such as pollution control, local authority requirements/restrictions, waste management etc.
* Deliver training to project teams and sub-contractors where appropriate.
* Produce project environmental reports
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities and frameworks
* Facilitate internal/external environmental audits
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
* Strong knowledge and/or a qualification of BREEAM is essential
* A qualification in, or strong knowledge of environmental assessment models
* Excellent communication skills
* The ability to deal confidently with colleagues, subcontractors and external consultant
* A strong understanding of sustainability issues within the construction industry
* Excellent attention to detail
* Highly organised with good time management skills and a flexible attitude
* Experience related to the construction industry, social value and sustainability
The role will be based at the head office in Buckinghamshire with the requirement to visit sites when required. Sites are located across the UK so you must be happy to travel. You must hold a full UK driving licence.
