Eden Brown Synergy have a fantastic opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join a private company as an Occupational Therapist Clinical Specialist in Aylesbury.
As an Occupational Therapist on the team your role will be supporting the delivery of a specialist Occupational Therapy service.
You will be a Clinical Specialist within the Aylesbury Community Equipment Service, you will be based in Aylesbury but will also cover Buck, Berk, Bicester.
You will be a clinical adaptive equipment specialist within the service. The role will provide the opportunity to develop or enhance specialist skills in the area of adaptive equipment (including bespoke equipment, seating, pressure care and manual handling).
It will also enable the development of specialist skills in the area of Technology Enabled Care (TEC), equipment and in providing training.
Some of your responsibilities and duties will be:
1.Acting as clinical gatekeeper to ensure that orders for special equipment, whether for children or adults are reviewed first to see if they can be satisfied from existing stock or alternative suppliers.
2.Lead and facilitate Equipment Review Groups and other meetings when necessary and in line with the demands of the contract. Ensuring all evaluations are delivered in a transparent, equitable and inclusive manner and that reporting reflects outcomes accurately.
3.Leading on the development and maintenance of a training programme in line with the needs of the contract. This will involve liaising with specialist trainers and suppliers to provide training courses and delivering training onsite to explain standard stock and provide induction session if required. It may also include the direct delivery of specific sessions.
4.Proactively drafting of equipment-related guidance documents and processes to support the safe and effective use of equipment in Aylesbury.
5.Undertake community Occupational Therapy assessments as required by local authority partners by,
-Visiting clients in their own homes, completing assessments, making recommendations and ordering equipment and minor adaptations to meet their needs.
-Completing timely accurate reports in line with agreed timescales to keep the local authorities informed of work undertaken.
-This will include moving and handling and seating assessments.
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who has:
Experience of working with adults and older people with complex needs-Specialist knowledge of equipment-Moving and Handling practice, knowledge and expertise-Detailed knowledge of moving and handling equipment
Experience of managing a caseload
Experience of Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention including moving and handling assessments
