Are you an aspiring Managing Director? You're already a successful Senior Business Development Manager / Sales Manager with a proven track record of industrial sales and team leadership. We are a growing market specialist looking to develop our next Managing Director. Over the next 12 months you'll grow our UK sales performance while we develop you into the new MD for our Aylesbury site!
BASIC SALARY: Up to £70,000

LOCATION: We are based in Aylesbury, but initially you'll be home based covering the whole of the UK. When you progress into the Managing Director position, it's expected that you will be in Aylesbury most of the time. Therefore, you might live in: Luton, Hemel Hempstead, Milton Keynes, Watford, St Albans, Banbury, Buckingham, Bicester, Bedford, High Wycombe, Slough, Oxford

JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Managing Director – Water Treatment and Wastewater
When you start, you'll be reporting to the current Managing Director and the Board of Directors. As our Business Development Manager (BDM) / Sales Manager you'll be responsible for:
· Growing sales by 10% over the next 12 months, by identifying opportunities for new business in end user or OEM manufacturing, process and industrial markets
· Liaising and supporting the Operations team to co-ordinate invitations to tender, specification and development, pricing and negotiating contract extensions
· Developing a solid pipeline of new business opportunities
· Introducing new products to our portfolio
· Expanding and diversifying our client base
You'll do all of this by seeking out and winning high value bids and tenders as well as through building strong relationships with consultants, specifiers and architects.
Alongside these aspects you'll also shadow the existing MD, learning the ropes and preparing yourself to step up into the role. As part of this you will develop and propose our growth strategy for the next 5 years.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Senior Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Managing Director – Water Treatment and Wastewater
You will have a proven track record of high value (c£100,000) B2B / OEM sales and you will have sold complex solutions into industrial manufacturing, capital equipment or process machinery markets. Although not essential, any exposure to the water treatment or wastewater sectors would be a bonus.
As this position will lead into the Managing Director role within the first 12 months, you must also be able to demonstrate long term strategic thinking as well as leadership and development of a sales / operational team.
You will:
· Be able to upsell / cross sell our products and services with deal values often exceeding £100,000
· Have the ability to nurture relationships in order to retain business long term
· Be persuasive, results orientated, a self starter and a team player
· Have strong interpersonal skills in order to deal with customer and employee demands
Above all, you need to bring the drive, determination and tenacity to get under the skin of our business, create a robust revenue pipeline and demonstrate that you have what it takes to lead our business successfully into the future.
