Overview
Pertemps Recruitment on behalf of Buckinghamshire Council has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join the Business Intelligence team in their Aylesbury office (HP20 area). Working alongside the team you will play an important role in understanding the Service Area's insight requirements, delivering analysis and presenting actionable results and recommendations to the service
About the role
As a Business Analyst you will have a number of responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
Deliver high quality and timely analysis and insight that meets service needs to inform decisions to improve service performance (e.g. process improvement, service quality, project delivery, performance management).
Designing and preparing datasets that will enable analysis to be undertaken to meet customers information needs.
To compile, explore, analyse and interpret data using a range of Business Intelligence tools to deliver insight that supports decision making, using analytical tools to undertake analysis.
Produce Business Intelligence products and interpret findings to deliver key messages explaining the results so that they are understood by managers.
Present results in an engaging way for a wide range of stakeholders that allows them to understand key messages using visualisation tools and techniques.
Act as a Business Intelligence and Insight champion, providing technical advice, information and guidance to managers and colleagues on full range of technical Business Intelligence and Insight development. Support the development of others in relation to how Business Intelligence and Insight is used across the organisation.
This is a temporary position for 3 months, though there is potential for this to be extended further. The pay rate is £17.12 per hour, and you will be working full time, 37 hours per week. Buckinghamshire Council are currently working on a hybrid basis where you will work remotely for 3-4 days per week and in the office 1-2 days per week.
The Aylesbury office is conveniently situated in the town centre (HP20 area) with great transport links including a local train station and excellent road connections to the M25, M1, M4 and M40
About you
Bringing excellent ICT skills, you will have experience of Business Objects and Advanced Excel, as well as standard packages, including MS Office etc.
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant processes, systems, policies and procedures will be essential, as will good knowledge of other areas of the authority relevant to the service.
You will be motivated to make a positive difference for our members and want to deliver total satisfaction.
Due to the frequent liaison activities, excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
You will need to be highly accurate with attention to detail. You must be able to prioritise and work to deadlines.
You take responsibility for your work and are trusted to perform your job to the best of your ability.
