The Company

This tier two main contractor who typically build projects to around £10m, have recently been awarded a place on the CCS framework. They have successfully been awarded several low security prison projects throughout the UK and now require stand alone project managers for each site.

The Role

Reporting to the construction director, the project manager will be site based, leading a construction team on a scheme of around £5m. These include refurbishment and modular new builds. The projects go to site in late January so the contractor would ideally like to give the Project Manager at least four weeks lead in time. The PM will be given the responsibility of the site in its entirety and whilst support is always available our client believes in empowering their staff particularly at this level.

The Individual

From a main contracting background, the project manager must be able to demonstrate running similar sized schemes and of a similar nature. If not prisons, then student accommodation, hotels or MOD housing. Ideally the project manager will already be security cleared as this is a prerequisite for the client due to the nature of the build. Longevity with previous companies is also a must.

The Opportunity

Whilst these schemes are due to run for around 40 weeks, thereafter there is a large amount of further work in the pipeline including projects on several other frameworks. This is the reason for the roles being permanent as it is hoped the incoming project managers will build a career with the company going forward
