Health and Safety Manager
£38,000 – 45,000 per annum plus benefits (vehicle, training provided, generous holiday scheme plus bank holidays)

Responsibilities:
Understand the Company Health & Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures and statutory requirements as they affect the Project operations and ensure that the requirements are implemented.
Assist the HSQE Team to ensure all Policies and Procedures are kept relevant and up to date.
Provide operational and functional management with advice on the prevention of accidents, ill health, environmental incidents and the practical implementation of the company's HSQE policies.
Assist the Operational managers including the regional operational Director in preparing and developing Project Health, Safety and Environmental Management Plans & coordinator reviews.
Undertake site HSQE inspections as required.
Participate as requested in "Company" HSQE Audit and inspections.
Advise on the assessment and appointment of sub-contractors.
Assist where necessary with tenders and presentations to external bodies.
When requested, advise on the preparation of HSQE risk assessments and Method Statements
Ensure that each Projects HSQE performance is monitored and reports are provided as required by HSQE department.
Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and other incidents where appropriate. Monitor and coordinate the close out of the above.
Assist in the preparation and implementation of HSQE training courses. Organize and deliver relevant HSQE Training where required.
Set standards and lead by example in the management of HSQE
Maintain own level of knowledge and competency in relation to HSQE management and responsibilities including appropriate qualification and professional membership.
Requirements:
Relevant qualification in HSQE Management.
Minimum of TECH IOSH Membership.
Extensive experience in a HSQE management role within major civil engineering operations (to include Rail & Highways).
NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate.
Health & Safety Manager CSCS card and PTS card.
Ability to work with IT and demonstrate competency in Office 365 skills.
Good presenter and communicator, both with the workforce and Managers or Directors.
Ability to work under own initiative and achieve targets set in a timely and prompt manner.
Full Clean UK Driving License (points for minor level infringements will be considered).
Valid Safety Critical medicalDesirable:
NEBOSH Diploma.
SMSTS and Environmental Qualification such as SEATS.
Ability to demonstrate where you have managed client relationships and influenced both the supply chain and other delivery partners.
