Compartmentation/Fire Door Surveyor

£35,000 – £40,000 + Benefits

Aylesbury, South East (Remote Based)

A new opportunity has arisen within one of the UK's leading multi-disciplinary consultancies who specialise in the Infrastructure, Labs & Analytical, Building Control and Compliance sectors. Due to ongoing growth, our client are looking to add to their talented team and are seeking an FDIS (or equivalent) qualified Compartmentation/Fire Door Surveyor to join the team to work on a mixture of residential and commercial contracts located across the South East.

As a Compartmentation/Fire Door Surveyor, you will:

Complete fire door and compartmentation surveys and visual inspections
Produce reports and offer advice and recommendations to clients
Have a good understanding of BS 476 and associated standards for fire resistance testing
Be able to identify that the frame specification is correct for the door's rating
Be able to ensure that the choice of Frame/lining/casing and intumescent smoke seals are compatible
Have good working knowledge of current Health & Safety and other relevant legislationWhat are we looking for?

FDIS Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years' experience in fire door surveying
Full UK driving license with a flexible approach to travel
Knowledge of Fire stopping techniques, products and materials
Knowledge of Fire doors and the need to fire stop around door frames
High attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenOn offer, is a basic salary between £35,000 – £40,000 along with a full benefits package which includes a company vehicle/car allowance, fuel card, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, company matched pension scheme and a commitment to your continuing professional development.
