EU Quality Manager

Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Up to £50,000 + 15% bonus

* This Quality Manager role has been created within a growing engineering business that is involved with the design and manufacture of innovative, reusable thermally protective packaging for high value, temperature sensitive pharmaceutical products.

* The EU Quality Manager is aligned to the design and development, operations, supplier and customer teams and is responsible for improving quality of products and processes as well as business cultures across the UK and Europe.

Role: Quality Manager

* As a Quality Manager you will need to understand the business, its objectives and the product development process (Design, Technical, Manufacture, Quality, Supply chain)

* Leading and managing a small team in the UK and Europe with responsibility for performance, KPIs and training needs

* Support the implementation and adherence of onsite Operational, Quality, Technical and IT SOP’s. Provide training where appropriate.

* You will also be responsible for developing and driving continuous improvements within ISO QMS standards, approval of reports, qualification reports, IQ, OQ, PQ protocol and report writing.

* You will oversee and manage the inspection of new materials coming on site and ensure they meet specification

* Defining product AQL’s to establish a harmonised ‘Defect Classification System’ (Minor, Major, Critical)

* Manage any quality or nonconformance issues at all stages from design, through to manufacture, dispatch and product returns

* Investigate, analyse and troubleshoot customer complaints or production issues, developing and implementing corrective actions, solutions and improvements in line with QA Investigation standard practices and techniques (FMEA / CAPA / 8D)

* Ensuring Change Control and Internal Auditing practice is supported for associated service centre processes, operational systems or design developments in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.

* Occasional client and manufacturing site visits to support any product related quality issues – Netherlands, Belgium and Germany

Skills / Knowledge: Quality Manager

* High level degree or similar in an engineering or quality discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing etc.)

* Experience of developing / implementing engineering quality processes, quality engineering / QA procedures within a product development and manufacturing environment

* Strong passion for processes and quality engineering and ensuring design/manufacturing teams adhere to business, quality and industry processes

* Excellent leadership and communication skills to coach, train and develop a team but also drive cultural change within an established business

* Background in a high volume manufacturing – Reusable Packaging, FMCG, GMP, Medical, Health, Pharmaceutical or possibly Automotive

* Proven ability of liaison and management across multiple teams to implement continuous improvement, quality processes and procedures coupled with excellent communication and negotiation skills

* Strong experience in MS office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint for creating and presenting reports

* Excellent written skills coupled with a strong desire to achieve best practice

* Strong English language skills to work with teams in the UK and Europe
