As an Animal Care Technician, your main responsibilities will be:

·Providing exceptional care to the animals, carrying out animal husbandry including:

·Provision of adequate fresh food and water

·Provision of environmental enrichment

·Ensuring enclosures and cages are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness

·Carrying out daily tasks which include temperature monitoring, animal checks and general housekeeping within the department

·Ensuring that all animal husbandry and procedural records/data are up to date and accurate

·Performing tasks in accordance with company work instructions and procedures

·Providing weekend and bank holiday cover to ensure the animals are cared for 365 days per year

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

·Natural empathy for animals

·The ability to learn and the capability to further develop your skills in animal husbandry, and care

·Previous experience of working with (and handling) animals would be beneficial

·A drivers license

·GCSEs, or equivalent qualifications A*-C (4+) in Maths, Science and English or an Animal Care or Animal Management Qualification at Level 2 or higher

·IT skills of a good standard

·Strong attention to detail
