Carmichael are seeking a Trainee/Graduate buyer to join the ream working on a large major infrastructure project based in Aylesbury.

Key Responsibilities

Attend a daily review of the requisitions to be processed as part of a team assist in dividing the workload for processing.

Assist a Buyer or Senior Buyer in processing requisitions that are allocated from Causeway.

Assist a Buyer or Senior Buyer in in keeping auditable up to date records of the workload that is being processed.

Assist a Buyer or Senior Buyer in confirming the product and identifying the supplier after confirming with site the requisition is correct (i.e. hiring or buying)

Assist a Buyer or Senior Buyer in sending the requisition to relevant supplier/suppliers for quotations

Assist a Buyer or Senior Buyer in evaluating quotations/products received to confirm best value

Assist a Buyer or Senior Buyer in converting requisition in Causeway into an official order , send to supplier once approved and site contact by Email

Assist a Buyer or Senior Buyer in advising site teams on day-to-day enquiries.

Assist a Buyer or Senior Buyer in assisting with queries from finance teams and confirm / amend orders to enable payment of invoices

Assist a Buyer or Senior Buyer in  in dealing with supplier’s queries / transport VMBS issues.

Attend any relevant Procurement and Supply Chain team meetings

Suggest solutions for process improvements & cost-effective processes.

The Person

Qualified by experience or academically with A Levels, HNC or a Degree

A Graduate or from an administration background

Experience of using standard computer software packages and making external phone calls.

Basic Infrastructure supplier & product knowledge

Self- Motivated

Organised and good record keeping

Team player with great interpersonal and communication skills
