Test Development & Qualification Engineer

Opportunity for an experienced Test Engineer with a test development & qualification test background to undertake a key role in support of major new, leading edge projects at a key stage of investment and growth.

At Test Development Engineer / Qualification Test Engineer you will be able to utilise your skills to plan and execute testing and then write technical reports to support Development and Qualification tests in support of key new products and systems.

This will involve taking a lead role, co-ordinating the test and development activities and working alongside the project team to deliver work on schedule and to agreed standards.

You will also:

Co-ordinate and prioritise test work which could include managing workload of a small team, sometimes at off-site test facilities to undertake testing of products.

Support the maintenance and development of existing and future testing capabilities within the team and department as well as working with both senior engineers and the Validation & Verification team to help determine the testing package for qualification of products.

As such you will be able to translate product level requirements into a validation plan to demonstrate compliance, which may include the need to demonstrate individual requirements in isolation or multiple requirements (such as test, analysis, similarity or similar)

Utilise you project skills to plan the verification phase of projects to ensure they meet project timescales and cost objectives, identifying the necessary equipment, facilities (whether in-house or off site) and staff needed, and risk together with the V&V Engineer.

Undertaking environmental, electrical, mechanical, and development & qualification tests using test equipment such as environmental Chambers, vibration test rig

Supporting the set-up of mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulic systems together with electrical wiring.

Have the ability to fault find test equipment and test rigs.

Undertake and necessary analysis of test results, to identify trends and ensure timely resolution of product issues.

The ability to use and program Data Acquisition systems such as LabView, Dewesoft or similar highly advantageous.

To succeed in this key and highly interesting role you will ideally be degree qualified or similar in an engineering discipline with:

Proven experience in performing Development & Qualification testing using a range of different test equipment.
