Product Design Engineer

Working as a Product Design Engineer, you will work alongside a talented team of Mechanical Engineers to bring their designs to life by taking a fresh approach to the aesthetics of the product.

Working on several projects concurrently you will have the chance to see your designs move through the design process and into production before going to market. The position will be split into two parts. Firstly.. working with existing products to improve the design, you will need a creative flair to take workable designs and take into account the human factors and ergonomics of the end product.

Secondly… you will be able to take on your own projects and design products from scratch, been given freedom to be creative. You will also be able to utilise the team’s skills to help you with your project to get a completed article. You will primarily use SolidWorks.

The company, who develop a complex range of products are based out of a state-of-the-art facility in the Buckinghamshire area where all design, production and assembly is carried out.

For this role you will need a degree in a Product Design related subject and experience working to design consumer products with aesthetics in mind and an understanding of Solid Modelling.

Experience:

• At least 5 years’ experience in an Industrial/Product Design role from a consumer product.

• At least 5 years’ experience of surface modelling using Solidworks.

• Experience of designing injection moulded and machined components is essential.

• Having good understanding of the mechanics behind precision electro/mechanical mechanisms

• Experience of drafting precision engineered components with appropriate geometric tolerances
