The Role

The role is for a Insulation Technician working for a global leader in motorsport & aerospace components to work closely with the supervisor on insulation techniques to tight deadlines.

Insulating new and/or existing parts by creation of a removable shield.
Working with thermally insulated materials and an encapsulation skin of thin gauge metallic sheet.
Hands on sheet metal work – very thin gauge stainless steel & other materials circa 0.1mm thickness.
Working from engineering drawings to prepare materials for the engineering teams – cutting by hand or machine.
Using relevant workshop machinery such as a fly press, rollers, hydraulic presses, spot welding machines, air tools and hand tools to complete tasks.
Creating new patterns for jobs – understanding and using existing patterns, templates & technical drawings.
Ensuring Health & Safety compliance at all times.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role will have the following attributes; You will have exposure in a similar position and will come from a hands on sheet metal background. The successful candidate must come from an assembly background & will be willing/eager to learn new processes & procedures listed above in a high tech manufacturing facility.

You will have a great hand-eye coordination & will have the ability to think in 3d to envisage finished products & the work which needs to be done.
You will have the ability to work from & understand engineering drawings.
Engineering & problem-solving experience is essential.
Strong sheet metal or engineering background biased towards sheet metal production work.
