Design Engineer – Highways
Roma Black are currently working with a client who support Buckinghamshire County Council and are recruiting for a Design Engineer – Highways.

We are looking for someone with experience of creating designs using AutoCad with knowledge of Construction Regulations.

The role involves design work for a range of projects to include carriage way and footway repairs and reconstruction, drainage, temporary works, traffic management and road markings.

Day to day responsibilities of a Design Engineer – Highways:

Design a range of traffic engineering / highways design schemes
Assist with the preparation of drawings, reports and calculations for projects
Assist in ensuring that schemes are delivered on time and within budget
Respond to queries
Attend progress meetings, public exhibitions and public inquiries
Attend site for site surveys
Liaise with other Teams and Services Meeting agreed deadlines Essential Background/Skills of a Design Engineer – Highways:

Excellent IT skills including confidence with AutoCAD
Knowledge of MX/3D Cad would be an advantage but not essential
Understanding of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
Driving licence Features and Benefits:

Competitive salary up to £38,000 p/a
Flexibility with regards to part remote working available although some time must be spent in the Aylesbury office and visiting sites in Buckinghamshire
