The company started up in 1956 with activities focused on providing subcontract earthworks capabilities to the main contractors engaged in the national motorway network construction programme. The business developed to become one of the biggest plant fleet operators in Britain and established a subsidiary to work in Northern Ireland in 1967. The company is a specialist in what they do which is bulk earthworks & soil treatment.

About the role

Due to my client wining a 5-year project on HS2, they are now looking to grow the team and recruit a Senior Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will be setting out on site, driving quality, and coordinating the site engineering control activities to satisfy contract programme requirements and delegating. The types of works you will be covering will be bulk earthworks and soil treatment.

You will be in charge of assisting the Site Manager in the initial site set-up, ensuring Company systems and procedures are in place and implemented. It is important to note you will need to apply effective planning techniques, methods analysis, and controls to ensure the most effective and continuous use of resources. The successful candidate will be in charge of looking after a team of site engineers and it is important to note this opportunity has great potential to help people progress into Regional Engineering Manager.

Requirements

* Civil Engineering Qualification – Degree level or equivalent.

* Setting out experience.

* Background working on infrastructure projects for a UK-based, self-delivering civil engineering contractor.

* Experience working as a Senior Engineer.

* Ideally, I will need someone with 5 + years of experience working for one tier 1 or tier 2 company within Civil Engineering.
