Quantity Surveyor
Full time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 + Car Allowance
Location: Griffin Lane, Aylesbury, HP19 8BP
We're recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support our highways framework agreement in Aylesbury.
You would be responsible for supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor by reviewing contractual agreement with our contractors and handling commercial management issues across the contract. Additionally your expertise will be utilised on various commercial reports, helping to manage compliance and ensuring suppliers are working to benefit of the contract and budget. This role will predominately be office based. The ideal candidate will have proven NEC contract knowledge and worked on highways or civil engineering schemes
The successful candidates will have;
A degree in quantity surveying or commercial management
Conversant with NEC3 contracts particularly options A, B, C and E
A Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations 2015
Ability to engage with client, stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties
An understanding of Civil engineering and Highways measurement principles and able to apply these to preparing Target Costs, Cost Plans, PIDs and Valuations: (Taking off from the drawings and preparing BOQs or Schedule of Activities as per requirement)
Proficient user of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project
Hold a full UK Driver's Licence (no more than 6 points)You would be responsible for;
Supporting Senior Quantity Surveyor in performing all commercial activities
Reviewing subcontractors' agreements and contracts as well as their Schedule of Rates
Carrying out cost management by using CVR technique
Helping the Commercial Team about subcontractors' issues on their contract and terms and conditions
Assisting with subcontract management
Assessing subcontractors' payment applications and prepare payment certificates accordingly
Ensuring that liabilities are put on subcontractor payment management system
Assisting with preparation of forecasts, reviewing target costs, recording of Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Notification of Compensation Events (NCEs)
