General Foreman – Earthworks
Location – HS2 Aylesbury
Salary – £50,000 – £60,000 plus £12,500 lodge allowance, Car allowance, 5% pension contribution etc
My client is one of the UK's largest earthworks contractors delivering a wide range of Bulk Earthworks, Restoration, and Soil Stabilisation.
The purpose of this role is to directly oversee site-based operations and to maintain efficient and safe delivery of the project objectives, ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Primary responsibilities
• Complete project incident-free.
• Complete project without ANY environmental incidents.
• Ensure ALL plant, labour and materials are ordered in a timely manner to meet the contract programme.
• Manage company and sub-contractor employees in line with the project programme.
• Complete projects to he agreed specification and quality
• Ensure All required paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
Secondary responsibilities
• Represent the company in a professional manner maintaining the company’s corporate and commercial image.
• Ensure that all work is planned and undertaken in line with the company’s health and safety and environmental policy.
• Ensure that SSMS is ran and maintained on every project.
• Maintain a day to day relationship with the “customer”.
• Ensure al equipment is clean and maintained and the weekly maintenance schedule is kept up to date and reported.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are used in a safe and conscientious manner (includes daily check for wear and tear and replaced as necessary).
• Implementation in conjunction with site managers all site-specific health and safety matters including Sub Contractors.

• Practices
• House-keeping (Safe Site, PPE equipment etc.)
• Compliance
• Understanding of RIDDOR requirements and submission of relevant data for company accident book, e.g written record of accidents to be submitted to Head Office.
• Conduction toolbox talks as appropriate in conjunction with the Site Manager
Skills and aptitude
• Planning and organising of the site.
• Ability to prioritise workload.
• Ability to communicate to/at all levels
• Ensure health and safety and environmental compliance is adhered to.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience within a similar role. Have a good understanding of large-scale cut and fill earthworks. From either working in the remediation sector or the earthworks sector such as Highways and Quarrying, whereby there are large amounts of muck shift, cut and fill ground stabilisation and formation.

• CSCS card
• SMSTS
