About The Role
As a groundworks ganger, you will be responsible for overseeing all the logistics of groundworks. Duties may include creating work schedules for your team, and allocating responsibilities. You might also be required to conduct site visits and report to senior managers on project progress.
The role of a groundworks ganger involves the following duties:
* Ensuring the correct setup and organisation of site
* Ensuring that Risk Assessments are carried out daily and all SHE requirements are undertaken to maintain a consistent, safe delivery of service.
* Communicating the essential information in any risk assessments, method statements and other H&S documents
* Overseeing the logistical requirements of a project
* Delegating work to groundworkers within your team
* Meeting regularly with other managers to report on progress
* Setting targets, objectives and responsibilities for all supervised staff
* Regularly reviewing timings, budget, labour, and project plans to ensure work stays on track
* Conducting site visits to inspect work, check materials and ensure staff are following health and safety guidelines
* Dealing with contracts and mitigating the impact of any issues
* Ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within contract timescales
* Working in an office and on a construction site.
Minimum Required Competencies:
* CSCS Blue Skilled Card
* SSSTS
Rates: £16.36 ph PAYE for the first 39 hours, £24.54ph PAYE for he next 11 hours.

30 days holiday entitlement and pension scheme

Saturdays – First 4 hours at time and a half thereafter double rate applies
Sundays – Double rate.
Working hours: Mon – Fri 7.30am – 6pm
Daily Travel allowance paid per mile or Lodge allowance £41.66 per shift available for candidates located 50miles away from the job and further.
There will be an induction that you would need to attend prior to starting the job.
