Hudson Shribman are currently looking for a Quality Manager to join our newset Buckinghamshire based client on a permanent basis.
Role and responsibilities:
Establish quality policies and procedures and ensure conformance with established company, and site needs and objectives. Develop and implement the product and quality systems and facilitates corrective actions to ensure conformity with customer requirements. Interfaces with customers as needed. Generally, operates with appreciable latitude for non-reviewed action and decision making.
• Manage overall Quality System including Quality Engineering, Quality Inspection, ZDP, NPI, Calibration, DSQR, Audits, Corrective Action system and serves as Chief Quality Customer liaison.
• Manage the company’s quality resources to reduce defects and improve overall quality measurement, and ensure parts and paperwork is accurate and complete prior to shipment. Ensures personnel are properly trained to perform job functions.
• Directs ISO, AS9100, and other quality compliance certifications required by customers and/or government agencies and leads and participates in compliance audits.
• Communicate and correspond with customers, suppliers, employees, and management within the company regarding quality issues, problems, and complaints.
• Manage Quality Audit Programmes including External and Internal Audits, Corrective Actions and follow up.
• Ensures Suppliers are adhering to Purchase Order and Quality provision requirements. Works with Suppliers to obtain Cause and Corrective Actions as applicable.
• Participates in RFQ and purchase order review process; and reviews, approves, and generates purchase order requirements for raw materials and all outside processing (NDT, heat treatment, etc.).
• Responsible to ensure first article and first article paperwork is accurate and timely for submittal to customers.
• Identifies and resolves manufacturing problems that affect quality and assists manufacturing and quality engineering personnel with the interpretation of complex part prints and specifications.
• Responsible for compensation, performance appraisals, coaching, mentoring, training, directing, and job assignments of quality department staff.
• Generates Metrics for Tag Reduction, Cost of Quality, Escapes and other Quality metrics as needed to support achievement of goals and reduce non-conformances.
• Serves as liaison with manufacturing operations staff to improve product processes, as technical quality contact with customers and laboratories.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
• Creates a team atmosphere with operations and other functional groups to assure robust and long lasting corrective actions.
• Ensures that quality tools and procedures are developed and applied consistently across the organization.
• Quality inspection of parts and process when required
• Conduct SFDC in quality department.
• Control and manage communication regarding quality to the customer and the internal management team.
• Report agreed company quality KPIs to management team.
• Implement control measures on floor and action against dates such as spec.
• Develop the quality manual.
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday standard day shift 39 hour week
