Our Client is a major specialist high-specification lighting Design Practice. They are very successful at what they do.
Their office is based near to Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire. They are a small-to-medium sized practice who are long-established. They are currently looking to recruit an additional Designer to join their design team.
Our client’s core business involves lighting design for the hospitality industry. Their work can be seen all over the world and they have designed numerous large-scale iconic lighting installations now in place within some of the premier hotels, bars and restaurants throughout the UK, Europe and Asia. They have an excellent reputation and are long established. Their installations have featured regularly in the press and they have won numerous awards.
Although this is a design role, our client values practical people who can communicate effectively and can continue to be involved with a project beyond the design stage. This is not a desk-bound role and it will involve occasional travel to client’s premises and projects in the UK and possibly internationally to assess design considerations. Our client has built a very successful team of practically-minded people who have an understanding of the installation and Project beyond the CAD screen. As such this is particularly interesting role as it involves elements of project management as well as design.
As well as CAD, the position will involve constructing physical mock-ups, visiting and liaising with suppliers and clients, assessing materials and managing pre-construction and delivery of finished designs.The successful Designer will ideally be an extremely organised person who is also good at project management liaising with suppliers and orchestrating installations.
It is not necessary to have lighting design experience, but our client is looking very much for someone from an applicable background and with artistic flair who can add ideas and take part in the creative process.
Our Client needs to recruit a designer with knowledge of Solidworks and ideally also Keyshot. Knowledge of light and electronics would be advantageous.
