Our client is a rapidly expanding specialist manufacturing business undergoing significant transformation as they grow from a small family operation into a multi-million pound business and they are now looking to recruit a Finance Manager / Company Accountant to oversee all aspects of accounting for the business as well as identify improvements and work with Management and Operatives to ensure compliance at every level of the business.
This is a role with substantial room for growth and progression, and an ideal opportunity for someone looking to move up to the next stage of their finance career. You will be a critical member of the management structure and a key influence in strategy and operations as the business grows.
Summary of main duties and responsibilities:
* Provision of management accounts in a timely manner, including the reporting of key financial information to all internal and external stakeholders
* Cash management. Forecasting cash-flow position and ensuring that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational requirements
* Production of budgets and ensuring budgets are up to date
* Verify accuracy, approvals and coding to the correct accounts
* Monitor and review of outstanding invoices with prompt resolution of queries
* Reconciliation of supplier statements
* Review the Aged Creditors on a monthly basis
* Reconcile the purchase ledger to general ledger on a monthly basis
* Deal with accounts queries internally and externally
* Process company credit card to accounting package weekly
* Record sales daily
* Reconcile the sales ledger on a monthly basis
* Management of the credit control process
* Review and help complete bank reconciliations weekly
* Analyse general ledger accounts
* Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
* Produce monthly VAT return, ensuring accuracy and reconciles to the general ledger
* Produce monthly payroll and post journals
* Maintaining the fixed assets register
* Assist with stock takes
* Maintain prepayments and accruals
* Assist with the year end audit
* Any other ad hoc duties as required
