A leading research and development organisation who design and manufacture complex scientific instrumentation which are used for medical and scientific industries are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer for their team just outside of Amersham in Buckinghamshire.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer – High Precision Mechanisms, in this R&D team you will work on 3D CAD designs using SolidWorks, developing new high-precision electronic instrumentation, involving moving parts. You will work on the full product life cycle from concept through to manufacture.

Skills / Requirements for this Mechanical Design Engineer vacancy:

* Experience in developing high-precision electro-mechanical instrumentation (i.e., moving parts, robotic technology, XY gears, stepper motors, etc.).

* A background in 3D mechanical design using SolidWorks or a similar CAD package.

* Mechanical test / analysis experience (FEA / DMFEA / etc.).

* Exposure to a design to manufacture environment.

* Exposure to vacuum, pneumatics, optics / lasers, or scientific instrumentation would be beneficial but not essential
