Reporting to a Registered Psychologist, you will be guided and supervised to support service users as they begin their recovery, transitioning from a hospital setting into assisted community living which focuses on developing life skills, confidence and encourages independent living.
Under supervision from the Head of Psychological Services, you will build individual rapports with people to create a safe environment as you assist and evaluate the effectiveness of groups work programmes.
Your responsibilities
Manage case records and databases to assist in the coordination of the psychology services
Support all aspects of the psychologically based programme, including undertaking and supporting psychological assessment and formulation, co-facilitating therapy groups, collating outcome data, supporting risk assessments and preparing reports.
Alongside the Lead Psychologist, you will manage file reviews specified by the Departments Service Delivery Agreement
Maintain regular communication with the ward teams and psychology department, updating them on service users progressionTo be successful in this role, you'll need
2:1 Psychology degree or higher
To meet professional practice expectations and the BPS code of ethics
A BPS accredited recognised degree in Psychology conferring Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR)
Skills to work under supervision, both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Previous experience facilitating groupwork/therapies is highly desirable. Knowledge of SPSS or similar statistical package, word processing and computer skillsWhat you will get
Annual salary of £20,000 – £23,000 + Benefits ( Fixed Term, 9 months minimum)
