An outstanding SEMH, Alternative provision in Milton Keynes and Bedford is currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistants to join them ASAP. The school cater for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges, Autism, Asperger's, OCD and SEMH, all through positive and holistic, therapeutic models. Many of the students have trauma, SEN, behavioural challenges as well as adjacent mental health challenges. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or experienced teaching assistant to develop their experience with Special Educational Needs and Behavioural Needs. A graduate with a degree graded 2:2 or above is ideal for this role and some previous experience working with SEN children is desirable. If you are sincere and know your objectives, all education and training will be provided.
The position will be working 1:1 with pupils with Autism, mild learning difficulties and Social, Emotional and mental health challenges – focus on verbal and nonverbal and Challenging Behaviour in the school. The context of the role depends on the context of the class, which is incredibly diverse within the school. The Learning Support Assistant will have the opportunity to work closely with children who have mental health difficulties, display challenging behaviour and have suffered significant traumas. Degrees of particular interest would include Psychology and Criminology backgrounds.
This SEN school are looking for a confident, dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants who are enthusiastic and passionate about their input into a child's education. Ideally, the successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have excellent behaviour management skills and desirably some form of restraint training.
