Logical Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a large industrial and engineering company for the following:

Mechanical Fitter

to join the project team in Aylesbury involved in the construction, operation and maintenance of a conveyor system.

The Mechanical Fitter role exists to provide effective delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance across the Conveyors and Crusher Equipment and to ensure all O&M associated materials handling equipment is maintained to the required standard.

The role briefly encompasses the following duties: –

* Reactive maintenance activities across all O&M areas.

* Planned Preventative Maintenance across all O&M areas.

* Work closely with the company and client’s operations team to ensure maximum availability of associated equipment.

* Work to agreed safe systems of work and comply with HIS/EKFB’s safety rules.

* Ensures all O&M associated materials handling equipment is maintained to the required standard, keeping down time to a minimum

* Overhauling associated equipment if required

* Alignment of various types of drives and couplings.

* Receiving safety documents and adhering to the controls which are stipulated within them.

* Assisting the maintenance supervisor with the development of safe systems of work.

* Monitoring stock levels of nuts, bolts and other trade related consumables.

* Responsible directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:-

* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.

* IOSH Managing Safely/Passport to Safety – desirable not mandatory

* ECITB Passport to Safety or equivalent.

* A flexible & adaptable approach to work

* A reliable attitude and good time keeping/punctual

* Strong team working skills

* Good communication skills & the confidence and professionalism to liaise with a range of people from colleagues to clients and management.

* A safety conscious attitude and commitment to always abide by all safety rules and systems.

* The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
