MPI are looking for a Contract Electrical Test Engineer for our client based in Milton Keynes.
Our client specialises in the design, manufacture and support of motor starters, control systems and aviation ground power systems for surface and sub-surface platforms.
Rate of Pay
£22.89 Per Hour – Limited/PSC – This role is outside of IR35
£17.50 Per Hour – PAYE
3-month contract
7.30am to 4.30pm Mon to Thursday and 7.30am to 12.30pm on Fridays
Half hour unpaid lunch break and two paid tea breaks per day
The Role
The suitable candidate must be an experienced Electrical Test Engineer, with experience inspecting and testing electrical equipment.
* Inspecting and verifying the correct assembly of our products
* Testing all types of electrical and mechanical products following existing test procedures
* Must also be articulate and have good communication and IT skills.
You will be inspecting and testing a range of electrical switchgear, more complex motor starters and bespoke and hybrid electrical solutions.
The work involves initial inspection and wiring integrity checks, followed by electrical safety tests and then functional tests.
The client manufactures specialist equipment in small quantities and do not operate any automated test equipment, we therefore require people used to manually testing the operation and performance of devices and who are experienced in inspecting mechanical and electrical assemblies for accuracy and build quality.
The role involves inspecting and testing a range of electrical switchgear, more complex motor starters, helicopter starter systems and bespoke and hybrid electrical solutions. It also involves fault finding on returned items and the preparation of repair reports and estimates.
The successful candidate will need to undergo security vetting due to the defence nature of our client’s business so you must be a British Citizen
