A Data Engineer is now sought by a globally recognised Organisation to provide a high-quality Data Architect / Engineer function across all phases of the application/project lifecycle.
This role is fully remote with a need to travel to Milton Keynes if there is a business or project requirement.
The Organisation our now building a data analytics capability across multiple business units and now require a Data Engineer with cross-functional knowledge to take responsibility for the following:
Data Engineer responsibilities
Responsible for the development of data integration, data modelling and maintenance of the data warehouse(s).
Manages the design, development, testing, deployment, storage, protection and maintenance of data and information systems.
Act as the technical knowledge base/ provide consultancy for data structures and use across Company’s Business Systems and those looking to implement changes to systems, ensuring direction provided is in line with corporate strategy and policies.
Specific Knowledge for the successful Data Engineer
Highly skilled and proficient in the use of Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Bricks,
SQL Database development, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Advanced knowledge of Data Management technologies and database warehousing principles (e.g., Star, Snowflake, SCD etc) and tools.
Knowledge of data life cycle from discovery, loading, cleaning, transforming, managing, analysing, and making such data easily accessible.
Understands different tools and can compare between different data models.
Able to reverse engineer a data model from a live system. Understands industry recognised data modelling patterns and standards.
Understands a variety of metadata management tools. Designs and maintains the appropriate metadata repositories to enable the organisation to understand their data assets
This role offers genuine opportunity to help a global organisation shape their data analytics capabilities within their UK operations. A starting salary of £50,000 – £55,000 plus exceptional benefits including Company Cars and Flexible Benefits
