In this hybrid working role (based from anywhere in the UK) reporting to the Head of Commercial, we are looking for sharp Commercial Manager who will be required to investigate, develop and implement new retail opportunities at our clients UK locations in addition to managing existing income streams and retail partners.
As Commercial Manager you will be confident managing key partnership relationships and develop those with new partners to deliver growth across existing commercial activities. Through close collaboration with the Executive Team and functional partners, the Commercial Manager will continue the growth seen in recent years.
Responsibilities:
Delivery of Commercial and Rent Receivable budgets, including involvement in their composition – Annual budget circa £20m
Lead, develop and deliver on business strategy
Lead and manage relationships with existing advertising partners and identify opportunities for incremental income streams throughout estate.
Lead and manage relationship with the hotel operator with whom on a number of their sites operate under a Management Agreement.
Lead and manage the development of both 'retail mall' and external Tenants throughout the entire estate who are operating under either License or Lease Agreements.
Manage 3rd party relationships with various other commercial partners such as ATM providers and ad hoc promotional activity on concourses.
Special projects, as and when required.
Working in close co-operation with colleagues including the Legal Department, to ensure that binding contracts are in place for all of the above.
Management of the commercial team
Requirements of the Commercial Manager Role:
Preferably graduate calibre, with a proven track record of successful commercial management, gained in a dynamic, fast-paced environment of similar scale and complexity e.g. Rail, Airports, Retail or FMCG.
Experience and familiarity with competitive negotiation with prospective suppliers to deliver best value to our client, including subsequent supplier management.
Strategic and commercial mind set, with proven people management and development skills.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with ability to build strong professional relationships and credibility at all levels, both internally and externally.
Ability to lead and influence resources in a matrix environment.
Strong capability to convert commercial data into strategic insights.
Proactive self-starter, focused on results, with strong commercial acumen.
Tenacity and resilience required to flourish in a high-growth, pressurised and constantly-evolving environment.
