Our Client are a charity and not-for-profit organisation that provides care and support for older people and adults with learning disabilities and are currently looking for a Purchasing and Contracts Manager to join their expanding team.

About the Role:
The purpose of this role is:
* Responsible for the central purchasing of the Trust ensuring value for money
* Operate the day to day activities of the Purchase Ledger function in an effective and efficient manner
* Play a pivotal role in modernising the purchasing function through digitalisation and implementation of new systems
* Ensure the Trust engage and contract out for goods and services that fit with the ethos of the organisation
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing
* To maintain purchase ledger records, input invoices, resolve queries and ensure that suppliers are paid.
* Work closely with the Financial Controller to implement cashless transactions across the business and introduce a new purchase order system.
* To liaise with homes as required resolving queries and ensuring errors are corrected.
* To carry out month end procedures and prepare reconciliations at the month end and year end.
* To prepare prepayment and accrual journals for authorisation and input these journals.
* To ensure supplier statements are reconciled in a timely manner.
* To supervise and manage the Purchase Ledger Clerks.
* To maintain computer and manual filing systems in compliance with the Data Protection Act.
* To enter detailed information onto spreadsheets for analysis and presentation; to maintain necessary spreadsheet records of spending as agreed from time to time.
Contracts
* To act as main point of contact for collective purchasing of the organisation. To work with the Operations team to agree contracts for specified goods and services to ensure best value for money for Fremantle.
* To ensure new contractor/supplier details are processed, including references and other documentation, and are kept up to date.
* Coordinate the administration of commissioning and decommissioning of homes.
* To ensure purchasing assistance is provided to the homes for one off purchases.
* To identify areas where cost savings can be made, taking ownership of the project until completion.
General
* To contribute to finance team meetings and support the work of other team members as necessary.
* To be a team player willing to get involved in other aspects of finance to ensure the department runs smoothly.
* Any other duties consistent with the business of Fremantle, the job and hours of work as may reasonably be required.
The role will require someone who has previous experience in administration/accounts, has strong excel skills with experience in pivot tables and has been involved in implementation of new systems. The person would have previously worked in an accounting environment with good knowledge of finance systems. Basic accounting knowledge around debit and credit entries would be desirable.
