The Project Solutions Engineer will assist the Sales team with providing technical solution proposals to our client base, plan out project delivery and Bill of Materials for the Sales team to quote. To complete comprehensive healthchecks for potential clients highlighting areas of concern and solutions to resolve. Be present at client proposal meetings supporting the client manager.

Main responsibilities:

• Understand and provide the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.
• Understand and provide the definition of the required implementation tasks and resource requirements.
• Create proposals and sales documentation in partnership with other members of the sales team.
• Ensure that all projects are correctly scoped and professional services quoted accordingly
• Assist Business Development Manager/Client Manager as required in prospective client and existing client meetings. The main purpose of attendance is to help with any technical queries raised by meeting members.
• Review new solutions either as part of additional services to add to our service catalogue or as part of a specific requests from customers.
• Support colleague development to enable them to resolve issues confidently and effectively.
• Take responsibility for own continual professional development, ensuring up to date industry and technical knowledge.
• Undertake all other reasonable requests.

Requirements:

• Pre-Sales, scoping, technical planning
• 2+ years’ experience as a Field based engineer supporting SME’s.
• Experience of working in a customer facing role
• Familiar with working to SLA’s to meet both customer and contract requirements
• Working as part of a wider service delivery function
• Supporting multi-site clients
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Creative, analytical problem solver with the ability to apply original and innovative thinking.
• Methodical approach suitable to resolution of client requirements.
• Able to manage changing workload and priorities.
• Able to work both within a team and using own initiative.

A good level of knowledge and application in:

• MS Windows Server Technologies
• Exchange Technologies
• Active Directory
• Firewalls, Router & VPN Technologies
• MS365 Licensing, O365, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams
• VMWare
• Experience of managing or supporting large scale projects.
• NAS & SAN Technologies
• Understanding the metholodgies for PC/Server Hardware – upgrade, both hardware and firmware. Raid configurations, iLO.
• VMWare / SAN – Scoping
• Scoping back up solutions
• Cisco – Scoping
• Firewalls, Routers & VPN’s – Scoping
• Project Management; PRINCE2 or equivalent
• Make recommendations for upgrade using:
• All MS Windows Server Platforms
• All SBS Platforms
• All MS Exchange Technologies
• Apple Technologies
