I am hiring for an Engineering Facilities Manager for a great client within the logistics sector. The role is to based at Milton Keynes, supporting our two sites based in Milton Keynes.
Role & Responsibilities
The role is at operational management level with responsibility for a small team of shift managers, engineers, facilities operatives and cage repairers for both sites. You will be responsible to for the day to day activities of the department are run efficiently and drive CI opportunities where identified. You will have 6 direct reports and this role will report into Head of Facilities and Engineering.
·Management of the site Facilities and Engineering operation supporting the requirement for a safe working environment for our employees and site visitors.
·Ensure accurate completion and storage of maintenance reports, service documents and legal compliance documentation.
·Accountable for the effective scheduling and adherence to regulatory requirements for all waste streams produced at the two Milton Keynes sites.
·Required to manage the use and expenditure of consumables, providing detailed usage against job requests and PPM works.
·Organisation and resourcing for small projects in support of our customer and the operations.
·Maintain and develop team capabilities, maintenance records and certifications to ensure compliance to health and safety legislation and recognised safe working practices.
·Effective management of engineering team, including staff development and performance, utilising the HR function and performance review process.
·All aspects of QHSE standards and HACCP acts relating to facilities management tasks are maintained. Site rules and regulations are adhered to; this will include attendance at sites QHSE meetings.
·Identify and progress continuous improvement opportunities within the department and across all areas of the operation, enhancing the service to the operation and our customer.
·Management of all planned preventative maintenance regimes, ensuring services and inspections are carried out on schedule to manufacturers recommendations ensuring detailed records are kept up to date.
·Ensure all equipment covered by 3rd party suppliers is to be correctly used and the 3rd party supplier is contacted promptly regarding their equipment failures.
·Support of team operations to include out of hours issues and project/maintenance works.
·Ensure the sites MHE servicing, repairs and record keeping is maintained to the suppliers recommended standards, as defined by the equipment operating instructions.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Experience within Facilities Management and Engineering
* Time served apprenticeship – mechanical or electrical engineering
* Ideally you will have worked in logistics or manufacturing environment
* Experience and progression within an Engineering department, including change management, continuous improvement, and an appreciation of budgetary controls (
* High attention level of detail
* Strong leadership and management skills
* IT literature and able to produce reports based on department KPI’s from multiple sources.
