Location: We are working a genuine hybrid model, you will work remotely from home but will be required to travel to our HUB head office in Northampton once a week .

What you'll do
As the Customs Compliance Controller you will support the compliant and on time delivery of all Travis Perkins Plc products to internal customers' final delivery facilities, supporting group customs activities and related logistics and supply chain compliance needs.
Some accountabilities of the role:
– Support the Service and Customs Compliance Manager to ensure worldwide compliance with international trade regulations, including the application process for export/import licenses, permits, and other requests for authorisation.
– Being the first point of contact for the business regarding customs queries – supporting colleagues through the process.
– Day to day management of our third party customs broker, ensuring they maintain a complaint service, coordinating and supporting periodic business reviews.
– Upskill key commercial contacts by developing and delivering training material on commodity classification and customs procedures.
– Influencing the relationship with HMRC, relating to inbound freight customs compliance and – TP's AEO accreditation.
– Assist audit activities including site visits to review bonded warehouse processes.
Is this you?
Due to the nature of the role you will need to have experience within Trade compliance / Duty Management, customs clearance, international shipping documentation, Brexit import and export processes. Knowledge of shipping, container haulage and international logistics will be needed to be successful in securing this role. It is important that you are a self starter and willing to learn to drive your own personal development, along with this an engaging style and eye for detail.
