Product Compliance and Quality Assurance Engineer

Our client designs and manufactures exception security management access control products. Due to the unique markets they operate in, they are looking to double in growth within the next two years and seek a product compliance QA Engineer to focus on the Hardware teams R & R&D compliance and quality assurance.
As a member of the Hardware Development Team, you will make sure that products meet all current product compliance and certification requirements for global market access, including safety, electromagnetic compatibility EMC, material selection and security. You will monitor the existing product range and manage compliance testing and documentation for new product introduction.
This role will also cover Quality Assurance testing of Hardware product developments (including electronics, mechanical and firmware), working closely with the Hardware Development Team throughout new product development from concept to manufacture and then helping continue to support the products after launch.
Typical duties:
Take responsibility for managing product compliance, ensuring our products consistently meet the requirements of the regions we sell into
* Develop the documentation, tools and processes to manage our product compliance data
* Monitor for changes in compliance needs and react to changes
* Research and provide feedback on compliance queries
* Support product submissions for third-party testing
* Support the maintenance of test reports, certificates, technical files, Declaration of Conformity, and product labelling
* Work closely with the Hardware Development Team and wider business on compliance issues and design for product compliance
* Define, run and analyse tests and experiments to qualify new components
* Author pages in our internal documentation system / knowledgebase
* Work as part of the Hardware Development Team to make sure we get things Right First Time
The skills and experience you need
* 3+ years’ experience in an engineering or test or compliance role
* understands of the entire electronic product development lifecycle
* has a desire to develop knowledge to understand new areas with excellent research and investigation skills
* has a good understanding of core electrical principles (voltage, current, resistance, power)
* can use basic test and measurement equipment
* understands of electronic product EMC and Safety Testing and product compliance needs
* can write comprehensive, clear, and accurate documentation
* has high standards of written and spoken communication and keen eye for detail
This role will be part of the their flexible working scheme with the option to work from home where assigned tasks allow. However, due to the nature of the role it will involve frequent travel to their offices and also occasional travel to attend and support test labs.
