Procurement Manager / Senior Buyer
My client, an established national firm experiencing outstanding growth, is currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team and work closely with their Operations teams, reporting to the Commercial Manager.
This role is ideal for an experienced Buyer with previous exposure to the construction or engineering sectors, specifially electrical high voltage, transmission, or substation. The Procurement Manager will oversee and manage a portfolio of projects, working with the design and estimating teams from project inception and managing the procurement throughout the project life cycle.
Main Responsibilities
* Direct and lead a team of Procurement Officers from recruitment, onboarding, training and development
* Identify and negotiate clear and favourable terms for new contracts as required
* Oversee the compilation of Procurement Plan with design and estimating teams
* Assist in Identification of long lead time items
* Management of fortnightly procurement meetings with relevant internal stakeholders
* Providing latest cost data to estimating team
* Liaison with warehouse team to ensure efficient use of company stock
* Liaison with design team, identifying project requirements and managing specifications issuing
* Managing tendering process for key items
* Managing Quality Assurance process for supply chain with rest of procurement team
* Management of lead times
* Bi-annual bulk purchase and preferred supplier terms analysis to ensure best value
Qualifications
* 5 + years of procurement role within construction or engineering sectors
* Experience of working within utilities or renewable sector
* 3 + years of management of a team
* Demonstrable experience with working within a SPL
* Good understanding of procurement contract terms
* Exceptional attention to detail with multi tasking
