Our client is a leading privately owned name in bindery systems for the print industry. Boasting a global client base across Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan, Brazil, Moscow, Korea, Europe, USA, and Africa and working alongside channel partners including Xerox, Canon, HP and Ricoh they are a market leader with an excellent reputation in print consumables.
Due to a long-standing member of the team retiring they are looking to add a Technical Sales and Product Application Engineer to the team.
He or she will put together proposals for customised binding solutions and accurate product quotations for a wide range of different customer applications. They will help build relationships with customers and distributors around the world and inspire confidence in the business and it’s solutions.
The role includes working on complex sales projects from initial prospect identification through to securing the purchase order, creating order confirmations, purchase of third party equipment and hand-over to the customer support team. You will use a CRM system to help manage all customer communications and provide regular sales status updates to the management team.
The role includes the provision of distributor sales support, maintaining product price lists, keeping the IBIS web site updated, preparing IBIS news bulletins and all other aspects of the IBIS sales and marketing function.
The Managing Director of this business is also looking to retire in the not so distant future so this role would naturally progress to Manager and then Director level over a 3 – 5 year period.
Candidate profile:
We seek someone who:
· Has a technical qualification (preferably engineering at degree level)?
Has a practical interest in how high-speed processing machinery (ideally paper handling equipment) is designed and functions, coupled with some hands-on engineering ability. These technical skills are needed in combination with some commercial
Has strong IT skills & is technically minded when it comes to machinery.
Is energetic and
Has excellent English communication skills (spoken and written) and the ability to communicate with people for whom English is not their mother tongue. Some foreign language ability may help, but is not essential. The successful candidate will be a good communicator through telephone, E Mail messaging, face-to-face contact and/or PowerPoint presentations.
Can quickly gain a good understanding of products and be able to communicate details confident and clearly with our customers around the world
Will be able to create detailed and accurate sales proposals for complex systems which are customised for specific end-user applications.
This is not essential but some experience and knowledge of the Printing Industry, and Print Finishing (book binding) would be fantastic
