Bank Helpline Operator
Epilepsy Society, Chalfont St Peter, Bucks
Bank Staff
£11.44 per hour
Benefits include free onsite parking, group pension, corporate induction training, excellent training in epilepsy, DBS paid, accrued holiday pay, employee assistance programme.
Be part of something extraordinary at Epilepsy Society a charity that provides world leading support for people with epilepsy through Care, Research and Advocacy.
An exciting opportunity is available for a Bank (casual) Helpline Operator at Epilepsy Society. You will join our friendly Helpline team, providing emotional support, and information about epilepsy.
The helpline provides a confidential service giving up-to-date information and offering emotional support, using counselling skills, to anyone affected by epilepsy. You could be speaking to a health professional, someone with the condition themselves, or close family members. Challenging, but rewarding this role will develop your understanding of epilepsy and give you a whole new set of skills for professional and self-development.
Once trained you will need to be available to work for at least two shifts a week: either 9am to 1pm, 12pm to 4pm or 3.30pm to 7.30pm to cover our evening service. We operate a rota system so there will be some flexibility required with shift patterns. You may be required to take some shifts from home. Equipment will be provided, but a confidential workspace will be required.
Extensive training will be given, including a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling, along with support before you take calls independently.
To apply please complete an application form, clearly stating how you meet the person specification for this role and supply your most up-to-date CV.
An enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring) check will be required before appointment is confirmed.
Closing date: Friday 11th February 2022
We reserve the right to close the post early once we have received a sufficient number of applicants: please submit your application as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Epilepsy Society is registered as a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2): if a candidate declares a disability and meets the minimum requirements of the role they will be considered for interview
