JOB PURPOSE:
To ensure the manufacturing equipment is fully operational, maintained, and upgraded.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
* Complete fault diagnosis and breakdown maintenance on all production process equipment, despatch equipment, cookers and electrical systems in an efficient manner in order to minimise downtime.
* Carry out preventative maintenance works on all production process equipment, despatch equipment, cookers and electrical systems, including electrical cabling and wiring to control equipment in accordance with established schedules in order to improve reliability and minimise downtime.
* Carry out miscellaneous work of an electrical / mechanical nature as detailed in the system documents, ref as including:
* The installation of conduit, wiring and cabling systems.
* The repair / replacement of power distribution equipment.
* The repair / replacement of lighting installations.
* The repair / replacement of electrical control equipment.
* The removal and installation of pumps and motors.
* Carry out electrical isolations on production equipment and systems in accordance with company procedures.
* Monitor and adjust process equipment in order to optimise its performance in accordance with production requirements and to meet quality assurance standards.
* Carry out minor modifications to process equipment as directed and assists in installing new equipment as appropriate.
* Identify spare parts, equipment and materials required so as to minimise downtime.
* Liaise with Site Manager regarding the release of equipment for maintenance and the optimisation of equipment performance.
* Record on the engineering maintenance system all work undertaken in line with department and statutory requirements.
* Supervision and management of contractors when required.
* Complete other duties as and when required ensuring that the Company meets its objectives
* You have a responsibility to ensure that you fully comply with the company policy on Health & safety and Environment In accordance to ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50,001 management systems in all aspects of your working environment
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
* Qualification or relevant experience in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
* Food industry experience with a high-speed production environment would be desirable including any experience working with:
* Slicing machinery
* Multi-vac
* Packing and labelling machinery
* Able to evaluate information and make decisions
* Works using their own initiative
* Resourceful with good problem-solving skills
* Calm and confident under pressure
* Organised with a logical approach
* Curiosity and passion to learn new skills
