Data Scientist

Location:Milton Keynes

Salary:£45,000.00 – £55,000.00

HRS are currently recruiting for a Data scientist to join a major laboratory centre which forms an integral part of the UKs Scientific & healthcare infrastructure. As the Data scientist, based on site in Milton Keynes, you will be responsible for leading data analysis & developing data analysis automation tools to be applied to scientific data generated by the laboratory team.
While based within a highly scientific setting, this position will not require a traditional scientific background but an excellent knowledge of data science and previous experience of managing large data sets as well as a familiarity with Python, R, & SQL will be required.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Your duties as the Data scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1.Perform Data / trend analysis on laboratory data.

2.Perform In-silica experiments & conduct meta-analysis on large laboratory data-sets.

3.Identify quality issues & troubleshoot any identified failings.

4.Build automated data monitoring tools, visualisations & dashboards.

Role requirements:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Data scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. A degree in a Data Science or similar relevant field.

2. Proven industry experience in a similar position, handling large data sets.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience of using Python, R, SQL and other similar languages.
