We are looking for Welding Shop Team Leader. Permanent, full time role on 2pm – 10pm shift.
The right candidate must be able to lead the welding shop team and ensure that they remain motivated and empowered to safely and efficiently produce products that meet quality and customer requirements.
·Ensuring that the welding shop fully complies with all Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
·Ensuring that the welding shop is always organised, clean, tidy, and well-presented.
·Ensuring that the welding shop fully complies with the organisation’s management systems and processes.
·Ensuring staffing levels match requirements and provide cover for sickness and leave. Suitable contingency and succession planning to be in place.
·Training, monitoring, and developing welding shop staff (Admin, Fork-lift drivers, Production Operators, Setters, Team Leaders, Robot Technicians).
·Ensuring the probationary process and annual reviews are completed as planned.
·Ensuring the timely start of production including breaks and shift changes.
·Ensuring that all activity take place following best practice.
·Co-ordinating production activity with the planning office to ensure that manufacturing orders are completed accurately and on time.
·Co-ordinating NPI activity with the engineering office to ensure that projects are completed on time.
·Ensuring effective handover of all information between shifts.
·Monitor and report productivity data, making appropriate improvements where needed.
·Ensuring that all maintenance issues are logged and highlight any critical or urgent elements.
·Supporting the toolroom’s maintenance and repair activity, taking lessons learned back to the shop floor.
·Supporting the quality department’s fault-diagnosis, taking lessons back to the shop floor.
·To lead continuous improvement & 6S activity for the welding shop.
·Ensuring that the welding shop has appropriate stock levels of PPE and consumables.
Skills and Experience
·Leading teams in a welding (automated and manual) environment (TS 16949, ISO 14000, ISO 45000)
·Lean manufacturing
·Leading change and improvement
·Strong KPI performance
·Fault diagnosis using industry standard tools and methodologies
Salary depends on the experience.
