An excellent opportunity has arisen for a junior/graduate Ecologist consultant. Suitable for a junior/graduate starting out with up to 2 years’ experience within Ecology.

It is likely that junior consultants will work closely alongside more senior consultants and will receive close support or mentoring at least in the initial stages of a project.
Tasks and responsibilities will vary depending on the client and the nature and stage of the project being worked on. It may be required to work on multiple projects and with multiple clients simultaneously.
Key tasks will be in one or more of the service areas below, depending on need, interest and experience:
Ecological site management: conducting site inspections; preparing and reviewing management plans; assisting with audits; collecting and analysing performance data; assisting with consent applications; advising project and site teams on environmental issues
Ecology services: assisting ecologists with habitat and protected species field surveys; report writing; and analysing data
Undertaking any other duties as appropriate to the post
Essential
Bachelors degree in a relevant subject
Keen interest in working outdoors and in ecological consultancy
A least one survey season complete and understanding of ecological legislation and has experience in working on construction sites (ECoW)
Hardworking, well organised and confident individual, with an enthusiasm for learning new skills and willingness to take on a variety of tasks
Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to our clients’ environments, including working individually and as part of a team
Possess a good level of interpersonal skill, both verbal and written.
Computer literate and a strong ability in using the Microsoft Office suite of products
Ability to work on own initiative and with the minimum of supervision
Member of CIEEM (qualifying level expected)
Desirable:
Relevant work experience in environmental or sustainability related projects
Aware of environmental legislation and know how to assess compliance
Support the implementation of environmental management and/or assessment tools
Engage with stakeholders
