Occupational Therapist, NHS Band 7 Equivalent

Salary £33,222 to £41,787 commensurate with experience

An exciting opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist at Epilepsy Society. You will join our friendly Therapy team, consisting of Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Art Therapy, and work with a broader multi-disciplinary team, including psychologists, neurologists and nursing staff.
Providing occupational therapy assessments and recommendations for clients of the Society, you will also play an important role in helping to promote and expand our occupational therapy services. You will receive support to be creative and innovative, whilst getting to know our clients well and following through completely with supporting care teams to implement recommendations and/or interventions. You will be involved in recommending and sourcing specialist equipment solutions in addressing complex presentations. You will promote best practice and optimal solutions, whilst developing specialist knowledge of epilepsy and associated conditions.

Also, you will work on our large site in the midst of beautiful countryside surroundings. As we have a small therapy team, we will pay for Clinical Supervision sourced externally. There is opportunity for regular peer supervision from within the therapy team, as well. We will support maintenance of CPD with regular in-service training and opportunities for development through external sources.
About you:
You must have a BSc or Diploma qualification in Occupational Therapy and demonstrable post graduate clinical experience, including managing a clinical caseload, working with people with physical and learning disabilities and/or neurological conditions. Your excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and good clinical reasoning skills will enable you to carry out this role. Previous experience of working with people with epilepsy and learning disability is desirable, but not essential. Experience with postural management, moving and handling and adaptations for maintaining independence is desirable, but not essential.
