Job title: Coach Builders / Vehicle Builders – Rolling Stock
Job location: Milton Keynes.

Shifts: Mornings & Afternoons
Hours per week: 50-60 hours a week.
Duration: 6 months plus
Start date: ASAP

Disciplines considered: Vehicle Builder, and Coach-building, Aircraft Fitting, Interior Fitting, Shop Fitting

Proven Vehicle Builder/coach builder with experience within a Rolling Stock environment is essential and you must be an apprenticeship trained and / or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified in vehicle building or similar.

Key Responsibilities:
Stripping out and refitting the interior's of trains including, seats, luggage racks, trimming floors, overhead panels, windows, dado rails, HAVC units.
*Using sharp tools; chisels, saws, planes.
*Understanding of mechanical machines; hand saws, bench saws.
*Competent to use hand tools; electric pump screwdriver, spanners and torque wrenches, portable circular saws, jigsaw.
*Experience working with woods.
*Good understanding of strip and rebuild vehicle interiors; luggage racks, seat frames, buffet cars.
*Knowledge of interior panel's removal on vehicles.
*Re-insulating panels.
*Strip, remove and rebuild floor panelling and plywood flooring; renew by cutting to specified shape.
*Assembly work.

Qualifications & Experience:
*Apprenticeship in Vehicle Building / Coach Building.
*Equivalent qualification – NVQ level 3 in a similar trade
*Previous experience in Rolling stock or related field
